Also inside Agra Fort is the Diwan-i Khas, the Hall of Private Audience, reserved for deliberations with dignitaries, ambassadors, and special guests. Built around 1635, this hall is crafted in white marble with fine decorative work, including gilded ceilings and semi-precious stone inlays, exhibiting the heightened luxury of the Mughal court in its later phase. In its time, the famed Peacock Throne was located here, and the setting reflects the refined and secretive side of imperial governance.
