Akshardham Temple

The Swaminarayan Akshardham, commonly known as Akshardham Temple, is one of the most impressive modern temple complexes in New Delhi. The entire temple complex was built in only five years through the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and the colossal devotional efforts of 11,000 artisans and thousands of BAPS volunteers. Heralded by the Guinness World Record as the World’s Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple, the complex was inaugurated on 6 November, 2005. Constructed from pink sandstone and white marble, the temple is richly adorned with intricate carvings of deities, saints, and motifs inspired by Indian traditions, reflecting remarkable craftsmanship and devotion.

Beyond the main temple, the complex offers a unique blend of spirituality and cultural experience, including exhibitions, boat rides depicting ancient Indian history, and evening light and water shows. Dedicated to Swaminarayan, Akshardham presents timeless teachings of faith, harmony, and service in a contemporary setting. With its vast scale, detailed artistry, and serene ambiance, it has become a major landmark, attracting visitors seeking both cultural insight and spiritual reflection. Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi epitomizes 10,000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss.
